HERMAPHRODITE DIALOGUE
HERMAPHRODITE DIALOGUE, is a series of projects started in 2017.
Now consisting of three works (I’am In a Folkloric Dance, The Spring, The Birth), they are all based on the same scenario, the same allegorical figure which is the one of the frog. An animal, which, in the Western imagination – through fairytales for example – generally recalls the idea of a transition, of an unfulfilled transformation, or even a sexual confusion, a position between the passive and the active state. Suspended in time.

This work adopt a form that is in between a video clip and an art video.
Using the codes of rap, I deliberately exaggerated all the symbols of suffering and sadness (as those symbols are repressed in rap music and often interpreted as weakness).
Still, some «so called» weak and childish position are allowed, when disguised under a very common social conflict scenario, so to say, when the oppressed wants to be in the position of the oppressor.

Puis l’impression d’avoir un énorme trou à la place de l’estomac, et comme une bouillotte trop chaude entre les jambes.
Au final, je crois que j’aime plus les gens pauvres qui gardent le sourire, avec des Air Max noires de première génération. Même si, je l’avoue, je n’ai jamais compris ce qui était devant ou derrière moi, et quand les rôles s’échangent sans cesse, cela me fatigue énormément.
Je ne veux pas passer par-dessus mon voisin mais tout le monde le fait, alors je ne vois pas pourquoi je ne le ferais pas. J’ai envie de vomir.
Dans l’art, c’est une grande perte d’énergie que de reporter la faute sur son voisin.»
