YOUR CAUSE

Video/Performance, 10min. 2020

This performance was presented during a residency at «EEEEH» in Nyon, Switzerland. A mask, placed next to the musician, is reproduced from a photo of the Luzern carnival, representing and caricaturing a «peasant» having been molested. This mask is re-interpreted here to question other issues.
Signs and symbols are also inscribed on the skin of the street musician, deliberately simplified, they lose their meaning and their strength by being placed next to each other.
Here too, we are in the field of caricature and it is up to the viewer to read the work, to interpret it and to politicize it.
These symbols and their “2.0” connotations are at the same time the signs of an emancipation, an escape from an oppression and the representation of a division of the “people”, where each one turns more and more towards what resembles him. , preventing cohesion and popular uprising.

Then it will, here, remain theatrical, something to be replayed, as it is in each Carnival.
